Chrysler Name Comes off the Building mdash; at Indiana High School
November 15th, 2007Chrysler had a forging and machining plant in this city for many years, but sold it in 2003. In deference to the automaker’s importance in the city, the school was called Walter P. Chrysler Memorial High School in 1958, when a new building was opened, and later amended to New Castle Chrysler High School. The belated vote to remove Chrysler’s name takes effect once the current freshman class graduates, in 2011. The school’s name will then become just plain New Castle High School.
