They are likely also the ones who are first in line for handouts from the United Way and other agencies. Are these jerks capable of rational thought? If the Chrysler plant and other automotive plants were to close, you can be sure that a substantial source of funding for the United Way and other charities will suddenly dry up to the point where these jerks won’t have a line to stand in for their next handout.

Chrysler union head predicts 120-150 Twinsburg layoffs; automaker won’t release specific figures

Twinsburg ” A Chrysler spokesperson confirmed there will be temporary job losses at the Twinsburg Stamping Plant, after an Oct. 23 announcement that Chrysler was cutting shifts at minivan assembly plants in Toledo and Windsor, Ont. The closing of a Newark, Del., plant will be moved up to Dec. 31, officials said.

Newark Chrysler plant to close by Dec. 31

The announcement came just a week after Chrysler officials denied they planned to accelerate the planned closure of the plant, where the firm makes Dodge Durango and Chrysler Aspen sport utility vehicles. Chrysler said a year ago it would idle the plant at the end of 2009 and reaffirmed that schedule last week. By closing the plant earlier, Chrysler apparently is getting out of the large SUV business, because those vehicles are not made at any other plant.

Chrysler axing 825 at Toledo Jeep plant

DETROIT (AP) Chrysler LLC will cut 1,825 jobs by eliminating one shift at a Toledo Jeep plant and accelerating the closure of its sport utility vehicle factory in Newark, Del., because of the slowing global economy and a shift toward smaller vehicles. About 825 workers at the Toledo North Assembly Plant will be laid off indefinitely as of Dec. 31. The Newark closure also will be effective at the end of the year and affect about 1,000 jobs, the company said Thursday in a news release.

Linda Young - AHN Editor Detroit, MI (AHN) - Third-largest U.S. automaker Chrysler LLC on Thursday announced a $662 million net loss in the second quarter and said it will close its Newark, DE plant a year early and cut one shift at its Toledo Jeep plant. About 1,000 workers at the Newark plant will lose their jobs by the end of the year. That assembly plant manufactures Dodge Durango and Chrysler Aspen sport utility vehicles and had originally been slated for closure at the end of 2009.

it lost less than both GM and ford. and as for thier cars they obviously aint that bad if it makes cars for two big companies-Volkswagen and Nissan. these two car companies are powerful enough to biuld their own cars but they go to chrysler for better ones. people need to rethink thier opinions about chrysler and thier products. except for the sebring/avenger cars. those are crap.
